Getting to know Abe Galo

A proud Khutsong resident and lifelong community activist. Elected as Ward 10 Chairperson in 2016 and re-elected in 2023, Abe continues to serve with dedication and integrity.

A qualified Healthcare Assistant, Abe has a deep compassion for people, from the elderly and vulnerable to the youth, seeking guidance and hope. His work in healthcare and the community drives his vision for a caring, united, and safe Ward 10.

He is passionate about uplifting the community, fighting poverty and drug abuse, and creating opportunities for young people through education and skills development.

Abe believes true leadership means being visible, available, and responsive to residents’ needs.

My priorities:

Caring for the community

I will work tirelessly to ensure that the elderly, vulnerable families, and young people receive the support they need. I will promote food relief, after-school programmes, and health awareness campaigns, through partnerships with local NGOs and social workers.

Service delivery and accountability

I will hold the Merafong Municipality accountable for the delivery of basic services such as water, sanitation, and electricity. I will report service delivery failures promptly and ensure constant follow-up until they are resolved.

Community Safety

I will work with CPF structures, SAPS, and neighbourhood watch groups to strengthen safety initiatives and ensure quicker response times to crime and emergencies.

Youth Empowerment

I will promote youth mentorship, encourage participation in DA youth programmes, and advocate for recreational and educational spaces that keep young people off the streets and on the path to success.
