• Alan is your DA candidate and a proud resident of the Umdoni Municipality.
• He has a passion to serve the community and serve in the following roles:

  – MEI (Mtwalume, Elysium, Ifafa) CPF Sub forum Executive member
  – Elysium 911 – Chairman
  – T.A.R.T (Specialised Tactical Accident Rescue) Rescue Member
  – SACCW (South African Community Crime Watch) Member
• Alan started assisting the DA in the 1990’s and this enabled him to deal with residents’ issues and complaints on a daily basis.
• He has established himself as a “go-to” individual and never hesitates to find answers or solutions with the assistance of DA public representatives and officials.
• Alan has been married to Nadene since 2008 and they have 4 children.

My priorities

• Services Delivery: I will use my position within the Council to promote closer engagement and better performance from the sector departments that provide services in Umdoni e.g. Home Affairs, Social Development, SAPS, Dept of Transport, Education, Health, Housing.
• Roads and Stormwater: The infrastructure has been neglected for 2 decades. I will fight for budget allocation and monitor implementation to achieve best results
• Public Lighting: These services are neglected and I will conduct regular oversight with officials in my efforts to ensure improved delivery.
• Water and Sanitation: As a local Government Councillor I have a more direct link to the District Municipality that provides these services.
• Economic Development: I will engage with communities and sector departments to promote the needs in the community through the inclusion of economic development initiatives, policies and programs that increase job opportunities and responsible development.
