Getting to know Bonita Moos

My name is Bonita Moos. Aston Bay and Pellsrus have been my home for the past 23 years. I have been involved with Kouga Municipality since 2019. I started as a litter picker — with my safety boots and blue overalls. In 2021, I was appointed as Ward Assistant for Ward 2, where I learned what really matters to our people.

I am a Deaconess at the AGS church, where my faith determines my direction in everything I do. I am the proud mother of four children and have been married to Edward Moos for 18 years. My family and my faith keep me grounded.

Together we can build a community that reflects the values of honesty, accountability, sharing and respect — a Ward 2 that works for everyone.

Ward 2 includes Aston Bay, Marina Martinique, Pellsrus and Mandiba Bay. We stand united in one goal: to build a prosperous, safe, and hopeful future for all.

My priorities are to:

Ensure excellent service delivery – as well as regular meaningful feedback.

Prioritise community safety – the growing concerns around gangs and drug abuse must be addressed through stronger collaboration with community organisations.

Emphasise health and wellbeing – better access to healthcare must be promoted, and the elderly and vulnerable cannot be left behind.

Address youth and unemployment – ​​creating opportunities for young people is high on my agenda.

Protect our environment – ​​our beaches, parks, and open spaces must be preserved through regular clean-ups, responsible waste management and community education.

My goal is to strengthen unity in diversity — to ensure that every resident feels heard and valued and is part of one community working together for progress.
