Your DA candidate Anélma, is a proud resident of Kakamas for the past 26 years.

She started her career at Tedco in Upington as an office manager. She then opened Vergelegen Guest House and Restaurant with her husband, Neil, as business owners. She is now the owner of Cafe Ziba in Kakamas.

She trained numerous people from the community in the hospitality industry and helped to create 39 job opportunities. She also helped to create 12 job opportunities at a restaurant in Augrabies National Park.

She has been a motivational speaker since 2003 where she uplifts the community.

My priority is service delivery:

• I will work with the municipality to ensure that service delivery structures are on a rotation schedule to service the entire ward over a monthly period.
• I will fight for better sanitation in shatters, that there is provision of quality water, and that the potholes are filled.
• I will assist our unemployed residents by using programs, with the help of local farmers and business partners to enable people to care and provide for themselves, and to learn a skill to apply for a job as a “skilled” worker.
• I will always be available to listen to our residents and assist them to the best of my abilities.
• I will find a way to solve current issues and work towards a long-term solution.
