• Shane is your DA candidate and a proud resident of Monument Park, Ward 42.
• He studied at the Tshwane University of Technology and UNISA where he obtained a National Diploma and Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Engineering.
• Shane also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Municipal Governance.
• He started his career as a Senior Management Engineering Consultant to Exxaro, Neotel, Department of Justice, Bombela JV (Gautrain), TFMC, SAA, and the PIC.
• Currently, he is a National Health and Safety Manager for Excellerate JHI Retail.
• Shane joined the DA in 2009 and currently serves as a PR Councillor in Tshwane since 2011.
• Shane and his partner, Sonel are animal lovers who enjoy spending time with their dogs. They also live an active lifestyle together doing yoga regularly and finding that balance between work and play with the occasional skateboarding session.

My priorities:

• Electricity: I will continue to fight the vandalism of the Mirage Substation which feeds electricity to Ward 42. The City has already contracted a security company for 24-hour surveillance.
• Roads: Some major roads require complete resurfacing and not just patching of potholes. I will advocate for road re-tarring, particularly in Waterkloof where it is most apparent.
• Service delivery: Our ward has old and unreliable infrastructure that needs serious attention. I will prioritize that new electricity and water reticulation infrastructure form part of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) budget.
• Hijacked Properties: I will engage with property owners whose homes are hijacked to take legal steps in correcting the situation. If this is not successful, the City’s Policy and By-Laws will be enacted to assist property owners in obtaining the necessary interdicts.
