Getting to know Archie Klaas
Archie is your DA candidate, and he is a proud resident of Zwelihle for the past 45 years.
He was the Head of Marketing for Relmar Holdings from 2005 – 2014. He joined the Overberg District Municipality as Deputy Executive Mayor from 2016 – 2021. He currently serves as a Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Strategic and Corporate Services.
He was the Chairperson of National Task Team, BMF Student Chapter (all Universities in South Africa).
He obtained a Degree and Diploma in Marketing at CPUT (Cape Peninsula University of Technology).
He enjoys playing Golf, reading books and writing.

My priorities:
Service delivery: I will work closely with the municipality to ensure that every resident receives only the best services. I will follow up on all complaints that have been reported, and give our residents feedback with the outcome.
Illegal dumping and sewage: These are serious problems in our area. I will create awareness and play visuals on the impact of blocked sewage pipes, and what can be dumped where. I will monitor hotspots and manage them. I will fight to turn dumping spots into green areas for recreational activities.
Housing: I will do oversight on the housing database and keep burning issues as standing items on the ward agenda until they are resolved.
Health care and safety: I will fight for better health care at the Hermanus Clinic where sick people must return without being helped. I will fight for the Mobile Police Station to be provided for a space in the ward to ensure more visibility in our fight against crime.
