Getting to know Anistine Watson

Your DA Candidate, Anistine Watson, is a proud Claremont resident and has been a dedicated activist since 2016. She has served as a Ward committee member for Development Planning since 2021.

Passionate about community development, Anistine actively engages in forums to address social issues and uplift young people. A devoted mother of two, she is committed to making a meaningful impact in her community.

“I’m passionate about community development and actively work to empower young people. Making a positive difference in my community is what drives me daily.” – Anistine Watson

My priorities:

Ward 82 water crisis:

Ward 82 residents face ongoing water outages due to poor maintenance and slow response times from Johannesburg Water. Urgent infrastructure upgrades, proactive maintenance, and better communication are needed. I will push for transparency, oversight, and direct community engagement to ensure reliable service delivery.

Better infrastructure and service delivery:

Ageing infrastructure and poor maintenance affect roads, water, electricity, and sanitation. We must demand proactive upgrades, efficient project management, and accountability from service providers to improve daily life in Ward 82.

Youth empowerment programs

Many young people face unemployment and lack opportunities. Investing in skills development, entrepreneurship, and job readiness programmes is essential. Through education, mentorship, and training, we can equip them for a better future.
