Getting to know Marietjie Wentzel

Your DA candidate, Marietjie Wentzel, has been a proud resident of Louis Trichardt since 1956.

After starting her career as a qualified nursing sister at the HF Verwoerd Hospital in Pretoria, she moved to Louis Trichardt. She started working at Sanlam for 3 years, then ran her own flower shop for 10 years, before becoming a real estate agent in 2004. She is still in the real estate business as a full estate agent at RE/MAX Helderstroom.

Through her work as a real estate agent, she had the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by working with charities and NGOs like SAVF and CMR. She also boasts experience in dealing with service delivery complaints and assisting local landlords and tenants with water and electricity issues. Marietjie is committed to not only continue doing the good work she already has done but now under the DA banner, will strive to do even more.

My priorities:

My priorities as the DA Councillor for Ward 9 are to continue serving the residents, fighting for a safer community, and doing everything in my power to ensure better service delivery.

With the help and support of the DA, I will tackle the issues in Eltivillas, Makhado Park, and the CDB, surrounding our road and water infrastructure.

I will advocate for increased electricity infrastructure for the agricultural portion of our ward. I will strive to keep residents informed and up to date with developments in the challenges that we all face together.

I will assist the DA Minister of Communication Solly Malatsi with addressing the current network coverage issue in the Matshavhawe and Khunda areas.

As a long-time and proud resident of Louis Trichardt, I want to see our town flourish, so that we all can feel safe in our community, and hopeful of the future.
