Getting to know Mickey van der Westhuizen

“I am passionate about serving my community and making a difference. I have led local initiatives like GIC (Grow in Christ), inspiring young people to pursue better futures and spreading the gospel in Venda. I also managed a men’s mental health support group, providing guidance and compassion.

My Priorities:

  • To advocate for a safe community where all citizens can thrive without fear.
  • Improve cooperation between the Police, security companies, neighbourhood watches and the CPF.
  • I will work to have streetlights fixed for a safer community.
  • To restore reliable electricity supply to our community and especially Clarina and Klerksoord.
  • I will exert pressure to have damaged and stolen electricity cables replaced speedily.
  • The improvement of our roads and storm water systems.
  • To have regular clean-up actions to keep our community clean and grime-free.
  • The empowerment of women and youth through skills development programmes and leadership development initiatives.
