Getting to know Hendrik Bodenstein

Hendrik Bodenstein is a dedicated community leader with a passion for service delivery. A proud resident of Johannesburg, he is committed to building a free and open society for all. His career spans multiple industries, including education, communications, and business, giving him a well-rounded perspective on the challenges that residents face. He currently serves as a Constituency Coordinator for the DA in Johannesburg. Hendrik has been at the forefront of political and community engagement, working tirelessly to build a better future for the residents of Johannesburg and of Ward 99 in particular.

My Priorities:

Reliable basic services – I know how frustrating it is to deal with constant water outages and power failures. I will fight for urgent repairs and long-term maintenance of critical infrastructure, including the Windsor and Parkhurst substations, to ensure we get the reliable services we deserve.

Safe and accessible public spaces – Parks like Emma Park should be safe, clean, and properly maintained for everyone to enjoy. I have successfully fought for clean and safe public spaces in other parts of Johannesburg, and I will do the same for our community.

Accountability and action – We’ve had enough of empty promises by the City of Johannesburg. I will hold service providers accountable, push for transparency in local government, and work side by side with residents to make real improvements in Ward 99.
