Why the DA?

The Democratic Alliance (DA) is the biggest opposition party and the second largest party in South Africa. We are the most diverse and dynamic party, and the only one to have grown in every election since 1994. The DA Received 22.2% of the votes in the National Assembly elections in 2014, and 26.9% in the municipal election local Government Elections in 2016. But, more importantly, we are the only party with a credible, proven plan to create real jobs. Our dream for South Africa is of One Nation with One Future built on Freedom, Fairness and Opportunity for All, living together under the Constitution in peace, security and prosperity, with opportunity and recognition for all the rainbow people. Why the DA?

Vision

Imagine a society in which even a child born into the most desperate poverty can become a brain surgeon, a concert pianist or a sports hero.

Our dream for South Africa is of One Nation with One Future built on Freedom, Fairness and Opportunity for All. This is the dream of a nation in which every person is free, secure and equal, where everyone has the opportunity to improve the quality of their life and pursue their dreams. A society in which every language and culture has equal respect and recognition.

This is the dream we will deliver – the South African dream of One Nation, with One Future, living together under the constitution in peace, security and prosperity, with opportunity and recognition for all the rainbow people.
