Today, 17 November 2023, Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Leader, John Steenhuisen MP, will lodge a formal complaint at the South African Human Rights Commission (HRC) against Rand Water for escalating water shedding that is crippling service delivery, collapsing Gauteng’s economy, and robbing residents of their constitutional right to water.

On the eve of the Independent Electoral Commission’s (IEC) first voter registration weekend, Steenhuisen will also be revealing some exciting polling around the Multi-Party Charter in Gauteng that will give residents hope to register to vote and elect a new provincial government to rescue Gauteng from complete collapse in 2024.

Steenhuisen will be joined by DA Gauteng Premier Candidate, Solly Msimanga MPL, and DA Johannesburg Caucus Leader, Cllr Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku, along with DA activists and public representatives.

Members of the media are invited and there will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
