The DA Students Organisation (DASO) notes the lackluster attempt at relevance by the Economic Freedom Fighters Students Command (EFFSC). The EFFSC has sought to disrupt the academic year at various institutions of higher education by obstructing points of entry.

We categorically denounce these actions as both irrelevant and pointless. Students are keenly aware of the political posturing demonstrated by the EFFSC and have unequivocally rejected their endeavors to shut down campuses.

Remarkably, neither the EFFSC nor numerous other student organizations have engaged in assessing the preparedness of the higher education sector, challenging Blade Nzimande and NSFAS, conducting oversight at both NSFAS and higher learning institutions, and advocating for a sustainable overhaul of the current NSFAS system.

DASO stands out as the sole student organisation that has approached these matters with constructive and peaceful initiatives. We consistently seek solutions to the challenges faced by students and persistently oppose injustices within the higher education sector perpetuated by the current government.

DASO takes pride in its meaningful advocacy for students, as reflected in the DA’s manifesto launch outlining plans for higher education. These plans aim to admit thousands more students while ensuring that institutions are adequately equipped to provide quality education. The only way to rescue the higher education sector is by rescuing South Africa. Vote DA and rescue SA!
