Kempton park clean up in full swing

17 Nov 2022 in Where We Govern

The City of Ekurhuleni waste collection blitz in Kempton Park is already underway.

This morning, the Executive Mayor Ald. Tania Campbell led from the front and rolled up her sleeves to join the team on the ground in cleaning up the CBD.

The two-day operation is part of dealing with a waste backlog created in recent weeks.  It is also part of a bigger strategy to normalize waste collection in the City of Ekurhuleni.  These operations will happen regularly throughout the City, especially in areas where the need is identified.

During the blitz in Kempton Park, Ald. Campbell emphasised the need to keep Ekurhuleni clean and committed the City to ensuring that the objective of a cleaner and healthier Ekurhuleni is realized.

The City appeals to members of the public to join the fight to keep Ekurhuleni clean.

We further appeal that while we are busy with the backlogs in the City, members of the public are discouraged from illegal dumping activities because such actions defeat the objective.
